Barbie

A lot of my work explores the theme of female beauty standards and the lives of working-class women often over-looked within society and ‘Barbie’ seemed to become an all-encompassing motif for my work. I used inspiration from the original 1959 doll to reflect these long-held values to address how little has changed over time.
